Hello, it's lovely to meet you!

My name is Holly Popkin, I am from the charming, cobbled stone town of Guildford, Surrey, England. My love for travel has led me all over the UK, Europe and in recent years across the pond to Portland, Oregon where I now live with my wonderful Husband!

As a trained, British actor, voice over artist, singer and audiobook narrator; know you’re in good hands as I lend over a decades experience to your next project. Over the years I've received extensive training such as graduating from the University of Chichester with a 1st class BA Honors Degree in Musical Theatre to most recently training with Elise Arsenault on The Great Audiobook Adventure and along the way joining Third Rail Repertory Theatre's Mentorship program, in Portland, OR.

Warm, bright and emotionally connected, my melodic voice offers a comforting and smooth sound. Outside of my natural Surrey based UK accent, I can perform heightened British RP, Yorkshire (UK), Southern (US), general American and Australian. My voice (and vivid imagination) lends well to fictional stories ranging from middle grade to adult in mystery, adventure, fantasy, realistic fiction and open door romantic comedies.

I'm drawn to realistic fiction that explores family dynamics, adventures characters take to find themselves whilst learning about the world and the ins and outs that make us all human. I personally enjoy relaxing with a cozy mystery, especially if there's crochet or afternoon teas involved! Another genre sub-genre that excites me is magical realism - I felt like I was living inside that genre when I was a resident performer at Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales - that was magical!

I also narrate non-fiction guidebooks, such as workplace health and safety, travel and tourism and foodie guides. I'm a big foodie myself and fortunately for us here in Portland, the food scene is impressive! If you're ever in town, I recommend checking out Tokyo Sando, it's one of my favourites.

Throughout the years I've enjoyed bringing magic to other positions such as the director of volunteers for the Portland Film Festival, being a camp counselor and gaining certifications to become a dental assistant specifically so I could support those with dental anxiety feel safe in the dental setting. I adore bringing the magic of creativity into every space I'm involved with for all to enjoy - I find it's a part of who I am!

It's a great fortune to call the creative industry my home and work alongside such talented individuals as we bring art into the world for us all to enjoy. Outside of my booth I explore rivers on my paddleboard - there's something about clear sparkling water that fills me with joy and wonder! I also enjoy hiking through the Cascades, all things Disney and playing board games with friends.

Let's make something magical together!
