Hey there! From my teenage years, I've been serving others in various roles like a cashier at a department store, a member of Alpha Phi Omega co-ed fraternity at Texas A&M University, a server at Bennigans during college, and even as an operating room nurse and educator, serving patients and peers. I enjoy community service and volunteer work in my local area, as well as working with Learning Ally to provide learning support, using my voice, to children with learning disabilities.
As a mom at home, I've continued to actively listen and gain experience in the world through the eyes of my kids as well. They have a fresh perspective on life and speak a different language of Gen-Z that helps me stay relevant in culture. As a curious and creative adult, I love learning and connecting with others by listening to their stories and finding common ground. I enjoy making personalized, handmade cards and crafts for close friends and family in my free time. The process of turning scraps of paper into something beautiful and meaningful gives me joy. Nature revitalizes my sense of creativity because of it's boundless beauty and complex connection to human life. There is nothing more amazing than digging my fingers into soil to garden and cultivating seeds into living food or feeling the breeze on my face during a walk by the lake during sunset.
