Meet Jacob Durren

Headshot

I am a voice artist based out of Harrisonburg Virginia. I specialize in audiobook narration, commercial voiceovers, and all things voice acting.

I am originally from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia but after graduating from Eastern Mennonite University here in Harrisonburg, I now call this area home. Growing up I was always into playing sports like basketball and volleyball. I went on to play four years of volleyball at EMU. My time there is what sparked my interest in voiceover work. While attending school, I would commentate the school's volleyball and basketball games as a hobby. This helped me gain my confidence and has led me to train and hone my skills in all facets of voiceover work.

I currently work part time at the local NPR station WMRA which reaches all across the Shenandoah Valley. Working in this field has brought me further experience and confidence in my voice and I have made many important connections in the community. WMRA has also given me the freedom to really explore what all I can do using my voice and they constantly encourage me in my other voiceover endeavors.

I thoroughly enjoy character work and love incorporating it into the audiobooks and vocal performances I record. From serious to silly I love portraying all sorts of characters through my arsenal of voices. I look forward to working with you to help create your project, and if you have any questions or would like to request my services please make sure to email me at durrenjacob804@gmail.com.
