The confident voice directing your call; the banker teaching you how to access your online banking; the lab worker showing you around; the tour guide helping you navigate the new building. Mine has been the voice of reason, as well as the subject matter expert helping folks access their benefits online. The best part about being a voice actor is helping important messages get to the people who need to hear them the most.
Before becoming a voice over professional, my career was spent on the front line helping customers in retail and financial settings. I then advanced to the classroom as an instructor helping to hire and train new frontline personnel. Even at that point, I voiced content in-house to teach government regulations (real exciting stuff!) as well as voicing robocalls (yeah, sorry about that) and the automated phone system. Mimicry and funny voices practiced in childhood kept everyone’s attention in my classroom. Becoming a voice over professional was a natural progression, and when I made the leap, everything finally made sense!
I received my voice over training from SuchAVoice and Braintracks Audio, and work out of my broadcast quality, professional home studio. Turnaround time for most short-form projects is 24 hours. I use a Scarlett Solo Condenser Mic and PreSonus Audiobox USB96 interface for recording Audio Tours, eLearning, Explainer Videos, On Hold Messaging, Corporate/Industrial narrations, Radio Commercials, Medical and other Narration, Documentaries, and more!
I am also experienced with editing scripts. If copy has been translated into American English, I am skilled at rewording awkward sentences.
In addition to traditional voice over content, I've also completed audiobook training; "Ants In My Pants: One Woman's Unexpected Adventures Across Seven Continents" by Joyce E. Perrin is currently on audible.com. Clicking on the title will take you to the audiobook where you can listen to a 5-minute sample. (No purchase necessary!)
